Online Car Purchase
& Sale Shipping
Coordinate the vehicle handoff between buyer, seller and carrier, from release authorization to pickup and delivery.
CONFIDENCE IN EVERY MILE
Turn a Completed Purchase Into a Ready-to-Ship Vehicle
Buying or selling a vehicle online does not, by itself, make it ready for collection. The releasing party must have the keys, authorization and a workable pickup location. Elevation Transport Services coordinates continental U.S. auto transport for purchases and sales involving private owners, dealerships and auction facilities.
One focused service covers both sides of the transaction. Whether you are the buyer arranging collection or the seller helping organize delivery, we need a clear agreement about who books the transport, who releases the vehicle and who receives it.
Transportation does not replace a purchase inspection, verify a seller’s claims or resolve ownership and payment disputes. Complete the sales arrangements separately before authorizing collection.
The Release-Ready Check
Before a pickup is coordinated, ask the seller or facility to confirm these details:
- The vehicle is available for release. Any seller or facility requirements that prevent collection have been resolved.
- The correct vehicle can be identified. Provide its year, make, model and any VIN, stock or lot reference required by the releasing location.
- The collection process is known. Share release documents or reference numbers the facility requires, together with its hours and appointment rules.
- A contact and keys will be present. Identify who can meet the driver and participate in the pickup condition inspection.
- The condition is accurate. Confirm whether the car starts, rolls, steers and brakes, and disclose modifications or damage before carrier assignment.
A listed pickup deadline is not the same as confirmed transport availability. Tell us about auction deadlines or storage charges before booking so the shipment can be reviewed against those constraints.
For the Buyer
Obtain current photos and a clear condition description from the seller. A sales listing may omit low ground clearance, a dead battery, oversized tires or a mechanical issue that changes the loading plan. Share what has been confirmed and flag anything that is still unknown.
Provide a delivery location where someone can inspect and accept the vehicle. If the address has restricted truck access, discuss a meeting point before the shipment is dispatched. Keep your own travel plans separate from estimated pickup and delivery dates.
For the Seller or Releasing Facility
Make the vehicle accessible and remove personal belongings that are not part of an approved transport arrangement. Have the correct keys, release reference and contact information ready for the scheduled pickup process.
Tell the buyer and transport coordinator promptly if release is delayed, the vehicle becomes non-running or its location changes. Ask how documents, extra keys and accessories should be handled instead of assuming loose items will travel with the car.
Match the Transport to What You Purchased
Standard cars, SUVs and pickup trucks may be suitable for open transport. A luxury, exotic or condition-sensitive purchase should be reviewed for enclosed shipping. For restoration projects and collectible automobiles, our Classic & Collector Vehicle Transport page explains the more specific handling review.
If the listing describes the vehicle as inoperable, damaged or for restoration, do not assume a standard carrier can load it. Review our Non-Running Vehicle Transport requirements and obtain current condition information before booking.
Information Needed for the Transport Quote
Send the pickup and delivery ZIP codes, vehicle details, release-ready date, location type, contact names and preferred transport method. Include any collection deadline, access restriction or loading issue. The final arrangement depends on the route, available carrier equipment and confirmed vehicle condition.
Purchase & Sale Shipping Questions
Does the buyer have to be present at pickup?
Not necessarily. An authorized seller or facility representative can release the vehicle when the required authorization and collection arrangements are in place. Confirm the facility’s requirements and provide the correct pickup contact.
Can I request a quote before the sale is finished?
Yes. Use the quote to plan the transportation portion of the purchase, but make clear that release is not yet confirmed. Availability and the shipping arrangement must be reviewed when the vehicle is actually ready.
Does the driver's inspection confirm the advertised condition?
No. The transport condition record documents the handoff; it is not a mechanical inspection, appraisal or verification of the online listing. Arrange a qualified purchase inspection separately when needed.
What happens if the seller is not ready on the expected date?
Notify us before collection is attempted. A release delay may require a new transport arrangement. Any pricing or scheduling consequences should be reviewed against the applicable booking terms rather than assuming the truck can wait.
